Repair Warranty in Sunnyvale: What Happens If It Isn't Right

Every repair at 105 East Maude carries a 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty on parts and labor. If something isn't right, your repair order, the inspection photos from that day, and the estimate you approved are all still on file. We start there.

The 30-second answer

If a repair we did at 105 East Maude Avenue isn't right, call the shop at (408) 685-2055 and ask for Moe. He owns Beacon Auto Care and he covers this counter too.

Every repair here carries a 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty on parts and labor. We pull the repair order for your visit, open the inspection photos taken that day, read the notes from the bay, and put the car back on the lift. If the problem traces back to our work, we fix it and you do not pay for it twice.

You do not have to argue your way to that. The record of your visit already exists: dated photos of your own car, a written ticket, and the exact line items you tapped to approve.

Step one: tell us

Three ways in, all of them fine.

  • Call (408) 685-2055 and ask for Moe. Say what the car is doing and roughly when you were in.
  • Text the same number. It is the line estimates and updates run through, so it reaches the front counter fast.
  • Drive in to 105 East Maude Avenue and ask for Moe at the counter.

Time since the visit does not matter inside the warranty window. A week, four months, last winter, all the same. The only clock is the warranty itself, and it runs on months and miles, not on how long it took you to say something.

If you left frustrated, or said your piece somewhere else first, come back anyway. We would rather work the problem than leave it sitting.

Three things move it faster than anything else: your name, the vehicle, and roughly when you came in. Those three pull up the ticket, and the ticket is where the whole process starts.

How we find what went wrong

Not a promise. The actual steps, in order.

  1. Pull your repair order. We look you up by name, plate, or phone number and open the exact ticket for that visit. What came in, what we found, what you approved, what was done.
  2. Open the inspection. Every car here gets a digital vehicle inspection, a photo report of your own car sent to your phone before any work is approved. The photos are dated and they are of your car, not a stock picture of the part. Here is a real one, start to finish.
  3. Read what you approved. The estimate was itemized and you tapped through it line by line, so "what did the shop do to my car" has a written answer on file. It is the same answer we are looking at.
  4. Put it back on the lift. A symptom described over the phone and a symptom reproduced on the rack are two different things. The second one is what gets fixed.
  5. Call you with what we found. It traces back to our work, or it is something new. Either way you see the photo before you hear the conclusion.

That is what the paperwork buys you. A comeback at a shop with no record is one memory against another. Here it is a file with dates and pictures in it, and the file settles most of it before anyone has to take a position.

The estimate is not a number we defend either. One customer came in certain he needed struts and asked for a struts-only estimate, because he did not want to pay for a diagnosis first. On the lift, the struts were worn and the clunk was coming from the control arms, a smaller repair. The estimate was revised down and re-sent to his phone, and he approved the revised one before any parts went on the car. Findings change the estimate, in whichever direction the findings point.

Making it right

Two outcomes, and we tell you which one you have.

  • It traces back to our work. We fix it at no charge, parts and labor, inside 24 months and 24,000 miles. You should not pay twice because we did not get it right the first time.
  • It is a new or unrelated problem. We show you the difference with the car up on the lift, photograph it, and put a price on it. You decide. Nothing goes on the car until you approve it. California requires a written estimate and your authorization before any shop starts work, and we run that through your phone so you approve a photo and a number instead of a description.

On refunds. Our first move is the warranty repair, every time. It is what the warranty is for and it is usually faster for you than money moving in both directions. If we genuinely cannot make the repair right, bring it to Moe at the front counter and you work out what is fair from there, with the ticket and the photos in front of both of you. That is as far as this page will go, because a refund promised in advance, on a page you are reading before anything has gone wrong, is worth about what it cost to type.

The one thing we cannot do

A warranty covers work we can trace to a repair order at this shop. That is how a warranty works everywhere, and it is not a suspicion about you.

Beacon Auto Care took over 105 East Maude Avenue in 2026. Work done at this address before then is not on a Beacon repair order. There are no Beacon inspection photos of it and no Beacon estimate anyone approved, so there is nothing on our side to check the complaint against. The same is true of a repair another shop made after ours, and of a part someone else supplied and asked us to fit.

So the short version: no ticket, no way to tell whether the work was ours, and nothing for us to stand behind. Give us a name, the vehicle, and roughly when you came in, and we will look. Every car Beacon has worked on at this address is on a dated repair order in the system. If it is ours, it is in there.

What every repair here comes with

  • A 24-month / 24,000-mile warranty on parts and labor
  • A digital vehicle inspection with photos of your own car, sent to your phone before any work is approved
  • An itemized estimate you tap to approve, line by line, so the bill matches what you agreed to
  • A dated repair order that stays on file, which is what makes a comeback checkable instead of arguable
  • A revised estimate, re-sent for approval, any time what we find changes the job

Warranty questions, answered

How long is the warranty on a repair?

24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, on parts and labor. If something we replaced or repaired fails inside that window and it traces back to our work, we fix it at no charge. Bring the car to 105 East Maude Avenue, or call (408) 685-2055 first, ask for Moe, and the ticket will be pulled before you arrive.

I already left and I'm upset. Is it too late to say something?

No. Call or text (408) 685-2055 and ask for Moe. A day, a month, or half a year makes no difference inside the warranty window, and it makes no difference whether you already vented somewhere else. The only clock is the 24 months and the 24,000 miles.

Do you do refunds?

The first move is always the warranty repair, because that is what the warranty is for and it is usually the faster fix for you. If the repair genuinely cannot be made right, come in and talk it through with Moe at the counter, with the repair order and the photos in front of you. We are not going to put a blanket refund promise on a web page.

Will someone walk me through the bill?

Yes, at the counter, line by line. What the part was, what the labor was, what the inspection found. Every job here runs through a digital inspection with photos and a tap-to-approve estimate, so there is a record of exactly what you approved and when. If something on the bill is a surprise, that is a conversation worth having in person.

What is not covered?

Normal wear on a part we did not work on. A new failure unrelated to the repair. Damage from an accident or from how the car was driven. Work another shop did after ours. Parts supplied by someone else. Items you declined on a previous inspection are not covered either, though they stay on your record so you know they are still open.

The shop at this address worked on my car years ago. Is that covered?

No, and the reason is mechanical rather than personal. Beacon took over 105 East Maude in 2026. Work from before that is not on a Beacon repair order, so there is no inspection, no approved estimate, and no record for us to check it against. If you are not sure which side of 2026 your visit falls on, call with your name and the vehicle and we will look.

Something not right? Bring it back.
